Brentwood Christian School has added programs such as E-Sports and tennis at the high school level in recent years.
It added middle school swim in October, and the first-ever collection of talent took to the blocks at Texas School for the Deaf on Nov. 21 with excellent return on the short-term investment.
Individually, Judah Lytle placed fourth in the individual 50-yard freestyle and added a bronze in the 50-yard backstroke as the lone male swimmer for the Bears.
On the girls side, BCS took home gold in the 200-yard medley relay, with Lucia Velazco, Jewel Montier, Juliet Montier and Brenlee Brewer rounding out the foursome. Jewel and Juliet Montier, along with Maria Burke and Bella Wilkes, also took gold in the 200 freestyle relay.
Individually, Jewel Montier finished sixth in the 50 freestyle, Juliet Montier added gold in the 50 butterfly and Brewer finished fifth in the 100 freestyle.
Wilkes, Velazco and Burke took fourth, fifth and sixth, respectively, in the 50 backstroke.
After a well-earned rest with the Thanksgiving holiday, the swimmers will return to the pool on Dec. 7, again at TSD, for the second of four scheduled meets this season.
